The Matchup: V8s and Diesel vs Twin-Turbo Six
Jeep has folded the former Wagoneer into the Grand Wagoneer line, and the 2027 Grand Wagoneer L is its extended-length version. Both SUVs are 2027 models on sale now. Jeep has not posted a 2027 spec sheet, so the L’s towing figures below come from its 2026 sheet.
Every Grand Wagoneer L uses a 3.0L Hurricane twin-turbo inline-six (420 hp, 468 lb-ft) with an 8-speed automatic. The Suburban offers a 355-hp 5.3L V8, a 420-hp 6.2L V8 and a 305-hp, 495-lb-ft 3.0L Duramax diesel, all with a 10-speed automatic.
