The Matchup: Space and Value vs Hybrid Efficiency
Toyota has published 2027 Corolla Cross pricing and says the 2027 models arrive at dealers this fall, though toyota.com still shows the 2026. For 2027, Toyota drops the Hybrid S grade and carries the rest over. Chevrolet has announced an updated 2027 Trailblazer for late spring 2027, so the 2026 Trailblazer is the newest one on sale.
The gas Corolla Cross uses a 169-hp 2.0L four-cylinder with a CVT and offers AWD for $1,300 to $1,450, and the Corolla Cross Hybrid makes 196 hp with standard electric AWD. The Trailblazer offers a 137-hp 1.2L turbo or a 155-hp 1.3L turbo, which makes more torque than the gas Toyota (174 vs 151 lb-ft).
The Trailblazer is far roomier in back, with 39.0 inches of rear legroom vs 32.0 and up to 54.4 cu ft of cargo space vs 46.9. The Corolla Cross has 8.1 inches of ground clearance and tows 1,500 lbs vs the Trailblazer’s 1,000.
