Chevy Blazer vs Nissan Murano: 2026 Blazer vs 2027 Murano Compared
Last updated: October 18, 2026 | Emich Chevrolet, Lakewood | Specs from each manufacturer
The Chevy Blazer and Nissan Murano are stylish two-row midsize SUVs with seating for five, but they differ sharply on price, towing and technology. Here is the 2026 Blazer, the newest Blazer on sale, against the 2027 Murano, using each manufacturer’s published specs.

Quick Verdict
The 2026 Blazer costs much less ($34,300, or $37,000 with AWD, vs $43,990 for the AWD-only Murano), tows three times as much with the V6 (4,500 vs 1,500 lbs), offers more horsepower with its available V6 (308 vs 241; the standard 2.0L turbo makes 228) and has more rear legroom (39.6 vs 36.3 in.). The 2027 Murano has standard AWD, dual 12.3-inch screens, more ground clearance and available hands-off highway driving with ProPILOT Assist 2.1, which the gas Blazer does not offer.

The Matchup: Price and Towing vs Tech and Standard AWD
Nissan’s 2027 Murano went on sale in August 2026 with a new Dark Armor grade and a simplified SL, Dark Armor and Platinum lineup. Chevrolet has not announced a 2027 gas Blazer, so the 2026 is the newest Blazer on sale.
Every Murano has a 241-hp 2.0L variable-compression turbo, a 9-speed automatic and AWD. The Blazer has a standard 228-hp 2.0L turbo and an available 308-hp V6 on the RS, also with a 9-speed automatic, and AWD is available on every trim.
The Murano is 1.1 inches longer and has a bit more room behind its rear seat (32.9 vs 30.5 cu ft), while the Blazer holds slightly more with the seat folded (64.2 vs 63.5) and has more rear legroom. The biggest gap is towing: the Murano is rated for 1,500 lbs and the Blazer for up to 4,500.

Interior and Technology

The Blazer has a 10.2-inch touchscreen with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto on every trim, and the RS adds an 8-inch driver display, connected navigation and Bose audio. Every Murano has a 12.3-inch touchscreen and a 12.3-inch digital cluster with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, and the Dark Armor and Platinum add Google built-in.
Nissan Safety Shield 360 and hands-on ProPILOT Assist are standard on the Murano. ProPILOT Assist 2.1, part of the $3,300 Technology Package on the Platinum, lets attentive drivers go hands-off in single-lane freeway driving with a NissanConnect subscription; Nissan does not say whether it works while towing. The Blazer has Chevy Safety Assist plus Lane Change Alert with Side Blind Zone Alert, Rear Park Assist and Rear Cross Traffic Alert as standard, with Adaptive Cruise Control available, but no hands-free driving; Chevrolet’s Super Cruise is offered on the Blazer EV. NHTSA rates both five stars overall.
The Bottom Line
If you want standard AWD, the latest screens and hands-off highway driving, the Murano makes a case for its higher price. If you want to save thousands, tow up to 3,250 lbs with the 2.0L turbo (or 4,500 lbs with the RS V6, from $45,250) and get more rear legroom, the Blazer is the better buy.
