What’s on Emich’s Lot Right Now

As of mid-October 2026, every new Traverse in stock at Emich Chevrolet is a 2027 model, mostly the off-road Z71 plus several LTs. 2027 Traverse Trims and Pricing

The 2027 Traverse comes in four trims; there is no LS. Prices below are Chevrolet’s starting MSRPs and exclude the $1,995 destination charge, taxes, fees and options. AWD adds $2,000 on the LT, RS and High Country, and the Z71 is AWD only.

Trim 2027 starting MSRP 2026 starting MSRP Highlights
LT $41,100 FWD / $43,100 AWD $40,800 FWD 2.5L turbo, 17.7-inch touchscreen, seven seats or eight with the no-cost second-row bench; Super Cruise available
Z71 $49,400 (AWD only) $48,900 Twin-clutch AWD, off-road suspension, skid plate, Hill Descent Control, all-terrain tires, red tow hooks
RS $55,800 FWD / $57,800 AWD $55,400 FWD Sport styling, Super Cruise standard, Bose 12-speaker audio, power-folding third row
High Country $56,100 FWD / $58,100 AWD $55,100 FWD Restyled for 2027 with Tritan Satin accents, 22-inch wheels, Jet Black interior with Natural Tan accents and real wood trim; Super Cruise standard

On the LT and Z71, Super Cruise adds $5,330: the $3,935 Enhanced Driving Package including Super Cruise plus the required $1,395 Driver Confidence Package, which brings HD Surround Vision and a Rear Camera Mirror. A panoramic sunroof is a $1,700 option on every trim.

Engine, Fuel Economy and AWD

Every Traverse uses the same powertrain: a 2.5L turbocharged four-cylinder rated at 328 hp and 326 lb-ft, paired with an 8-speed automatic and running on regular 87-octane fuel. Chevrolet says it delivers better performance and efficiency than the V6 in the previous-generation Traverse.

Drive EPA city EPA highway EPA combined
FWD 20 mpg 26 mpg 22 mpg
AWD (including Z71) 20 mpg 24 mpg 21 mpg

The standard AWD system can be switched on or off from the drive mode panel, which helps on snowy Front Range commutes. The Z71 gets its own twin-clutch AWD system that sends torque to the rear wheel with the best traction, plus a terrain mode.

Traverse Towing Capacity

Every 2027 Traverse is rated to tow 5,000 lbs, because the Trailering Package is standard on all four trims. It includes heavy-duty cooling, a factory-installed hitch, Hitch Guidance with Hitch View and a 220-amp alternator, and the Trailering App is standard too. No package raises the rating above 5,000 lbs, so the Z71 tows the same as the LT.

GM lists the Traverse among the vehicles that offer hands-free trailering when equipped with Super Cruise, on compatible roads. To compare the Traverse with the Tahoe, Suburban and Chevy trucks, see our Chevy towing capacity chart.

Seating and Cargo Space

Every Traverse seats seven with second-row captain’s chairs, and the LT can be ordered with a second-row bench for eight at no charge. The RS and High Country add a power-folding third row, and the second-row seats fold and tumble for third-row access.

Cargo area Traverse
Behind the third row 22.9 cu ft
Behind the second row 56.6 cu ft
Behind the first row (rows two and three folded) 98 cu ft (97.6 in Build & Price)

Source: chevrolet.com and Build & Price (identical for 2026 and 2027). Chevrolet calls the 98 cu ft maximum best in class, based on its latest available competitive data.

Legroom is 44.3 inches in the first row, 41.5 in the second and 32.1 in the third. The Traverse is 204.4 inches long on a 121.0-inch wheelbase. If you need more towing or a V8, the Chevy Tahoe is the step up.

Traverse Z71: The Off-Road Traverse

The Z71 is AWD only, with the twin-clutch AWD system and terrain mode, Hill Descent Control, an off-road suspension with frequency-based dampers, a skid plate, red tow hooks and 18-inch wheels on 265/65R18 all-terrain tires. It rides higher, with 7.76 inches of ground clearance vs 6.77 inches on other trims. An available Z71 Adventure Package adds assist steps, splash guards and roof cross rails. Chevrolet does not list a locking differential for any Traverse.

Technology and Super Cruise

Driver using navigation on the Chevy Traverse touchscreen

  • 17.7-inch touchscreen and 11-inch driver display, standard on every trim.
  • Google built-in for navigation, apps and voice control (service plan required), with the Google Gemini assistant available.
  • Wireless phone charging standard; Bose 12-speaker audio standard on RS and High Country.
  • Super Cruise hands-free driving on compatible roads: standard on RS and High Country and available on LT and Z71, with three years of OnStar One with Super Cruise included.
  • New for 2027: an interior camera with Cabin Glance, which shows the second and third rows on the center screen. It is standard on RS and High Country and available on LT and Z71.

Safety and Driver Assistance

Every 2027 Traverse comes standard with more than 20 safety and driver-assistance features, including Automatic Emergency Braking, Intersection Automatic Emergency Braking, Front Pedestrian and Bicyclist Braking, Adaptive Cruise Control, Lane Keep Assist, Blind Zone Steering Assist, Rear Cross Traffic Braking and Reverse Automatic Braking. NHTSA gave the 2026 Traverse a five-star overall rating, and IIHS named the 2026 Traverse a TOP SAFETY PICK under its 2025 criteria. NHTSA has not yet rated the 2027 model, and IIHS lists carryover crash-test ratings for the 2027 Traverse but no award yet.

Colors. 2027 Traverse colors include Summit White (LT), Mosaic Black Metallic, Sterling Gray Metallic, Sandstone Gray (Z71), the new Twilight Blue (RS and High Country), the new Trillium Green Metallic, Radiant Red Tintcoat and Polar White Tricoat, with availability varying by trim.

2026 vs 2027 Traverse: What Changed?

The engine, towing, dimensions, cargo space, screens, EPA ratings and warranty are unchanged. Comparing Chevrolet’s 2026 and 2027 pages and configurators, the 2027 brings:

  • Prices up $300 to $1,000, so the High Country now starts above the RS
  • A restyled High Country with Tritan Satin accents, 22-inch wheels, a Jet Black interior with Natural Tan accents and real wood trim, and less chrome
  • Evotex Ultra seats on RS and High Country in place of perforated leather
  • A new interior camera with Cabin Glance and Security Recording
  • New Twilight Blue and Trillium Green colors, with Lakeshore Blue dropped
