Chevy Tahoe vs Jeep Wagoneer: 2027 Tahoe vs Grand Wagoneer Compared
Last updated: October 14, 2026 | Emich Chevrolet, Lakewood | Specs from each manufacturer
Shopping the Chevy Tahoe against a Jeep Wagoneer? Jeep no longer builds the Wagoneer: for 2026 it folded the Wagoneer models into the Grand Wagoneer line. Here is the 2027 Tahoe against the 2027 Grand Wagoneer, Jeep’s newest full-size SUV, using each manufacturer’s published specs.

Quick Verdict
The 2027 Grand Wagoneer tows more (10,000 vs 8,400 lbs), has more space behind the third row (27.9 vs 25.5 cu ft) and makes 420 hp standard. The 2027 Tahoe starts $3,500 lower, has more total cargo space (122.7 vs 116.7 cu ft), offers V8s and a Duramax diesel rated at 24 mpg combined vs 19 for the Jeep, and offers Super Cruise hands-free driving, which Jeep does not list for the Grand Wagoneer.

The Matchup: What Happened to the Wagoneer
Jeep says the Wagoneer is no longer in production. Stellantis announced that the 2026 Grand Wagoneer absorbs the previously available Wagoneer models under one name, and the 2027 Grand Wagoneer now starts at $65,000 (4×2), with the former luxury Grand Wagoneer content living on in the Summit trims. That makes the 2027 Grand Wagoneer the right comparison for the 2027 Tahoe.
The Grand Wagoneer uses one engine, a 3.0L Hurricane twin-turbo inline-six (420 hp, 468 lb-ft) with an 8-speed automatic. The Tahoe offers a standard 5.3L V8 (355 hp, 383 lb-ft), an available 6.2L V8 (420 hp, 460 lb-ft) and an available 3.0L Duramax turbo-diesel inline-six (305 hp, 495 lb-ft), all with a 10-speed automatic.
The Jeep tows more, up to 10,000 lbs with 4×4 and the 3.92 axle, which Jeep calls best in class, and has more room behind the third row. The Tahoe has more space behind the second and first rows, a lower starting price, far better fuel economy with the Duramax and Super Cruise hands-free driving; Jeep lists only hands-on Active Driving Assist. For more room, the long-wheelbase Grand Wagoneer L (42.6 cu ft behind the third row) lines up against the Chevy Suburban (41.5 cu ft).
