Chevy Tahoe vs Nissan Armada: 2027 Compared
Last updated: October 14, 2026 | Emich Chevrolet, Lakewood | Specs from each manufacturer
The Chevy Tahoe and Nissan Armada are three-row SUVs that tow more than 8,000 lbs, but they are built very differently: the Tahoe around space and engine choice, the Armada around a twin-turbo V6. Here is the 2027 Tahoe against the 2027 Armada, Nissan’s newest model, using each manufacturer’s published specs.

Quick Verdict
The 2027 Armada makes more standard power (425 hp, 516 lb-ft on premium fuel) and is rated to tow 100 lbs more (8,500 vs 8,400). The 2027 Tahoe starts $2,790 lower, has far more cargo space (122.7 vs 97.1 cu ft maximum, 25.5 vs 20.4 behind the third row), more third-row legroom, a Duramax diesel rated at 24 mpg combined and Super Cruise on the LT, RST, Premier and High Country.

The Matchup: Space and Choice vs Twin-Turbo Power
Nissan put the 2027 Armada on sale in September 2026 with a 3.5L twin-turbo V6 rated at 425 hp and 516 lb-ft (460 hp in the NISMO), both on premium fuel, and a 9-speed automatic. The 2027 Tahoe offers a standard 5.3L V8 (355 hp, 383 lb-ft) that runs on regular fuel, an available 6.2L V8 (420 hp, 460 lb-ft) and an available 3.0L Duramax turbo-diesel inline-six (305 hp, 495 lb-ft), all with a 10-speed automatic.
Inside, the Tahoe is much roomier: 25.5 cu ft behind the third row vs 20.4, 72.5 vs 56.3 behind the second row, 122.7 vs 97.1 maximum, and 34.9 vs 32.9 inches of third-row legroom. The Armada’s 8,500-lb standard tow rating edges the Tahoe’s 8,400-lb maximum.
Both offer hands-free highway driving, but at different price points: Super Cruise is available on the Tahoe LT, RST, Premier and High Country, while Nissan’s hands-off ProPILOT Assist 2.1 is standard only on the $84,590 Armada Platinum Reserve.
