Chevy Colorado in Denver: 2026 Trims, Pricing, Towing and Off-Road Guide
Last updated: October 14, 2026 | Emich Chevrolet, Lakewood | Serving Denver and the Colorado Front Range
The Chevy Colorado is the midsize pickup built for the way people use trucks around here: trailheads on the weekend, a boat or camper in the summer, and a garage-friendly size the rest of the week. This guide covers the 2026 Colorado trucks on Emich’s lot, including trims and pricing, the TurboMax engine, towing and payload, the Trail Boss, Z71 and ZR2, technology, current offers and what is known about the 2027 model.

Quick Answer
The 2026 Chevy Colorado starts at $32,400 for a 2WD Work Truck and runs to $50,700 for the ZR2 (MSRP, plus a $2,095 destination charge), with the ZR2 Bison package on top. Every trim uses a 310-hp, 430-lb-ft 2.7L TurboMax engine and an 8-speed automatic. It tows up to 7,700 lbs with the Advanced Trailering Package (standard on Trail Boss and Z71), and the off-road ZR2 adds Multimatic DSSV dampers and front and rear lockers. Every 2026 Colorado is a crew cab with a short bed, and the trucks on Emich’s lot are 4WD Trail Boss, Z71 and ZR2 models.

Every new Colorado in stock at Emich Chevrolet is a 2026 crew cab 4WD, and the lineup leans hard toward off-road trims. As of mid-October 2026, the ZR2 makes up about half of our new Colorado inventory, the Trail Boss most of the rest, plus a few Z71s. Inventory changes daily, so check live Colorado inventory for current trucks and pricing.

Engine, Towing and Fuel Economy
Every 2026 Colorado uses the same engine: a 2.7L TurboMax four-cylinder rated at 310 hp and 430 lb-ft, paired with an 8-speed automatic. Chevrolet says that is best-in-class standard torque. There is no V6 or diesel option for 2026. Turbocharging is a real advantage at Colorado elevations, where naturally aspirated engines give up more power.
Colorado towing capacity
| 2026 Colorado | Max towing | Max payload |

| WT, Custom, LT with Advanced Trailering Package | 7,700 lbs | 1,846 lbs (2WD) / 2,046 lbs (4WD) |
| Trail Boss | 7,700 lbs | 1,726 lbs |
| Z71 | 7,700 lbs | 1,733 lbs |

The $945 Advanced Trailering Package is the key option on WT, Custom and LT trucks. It adds a trailer brake controller, a 2-inch receiver, 7-pin wiring, the in-vehicle trailering app and an automatic locking rear differential, and it more than doubles the tow rating. It is standard on the Trail Boss and Z71. Tongue weight should be 10 to 15 percent of the trailer’s weight, up to 770 lbs. Bed, Cab and Payload
Every 2026 Colorado is a five-passenger crew cab with a short bed. The bed floor is 61.7 inches long and 58.8 inches wide, with 45.5 inches between the wheel wells and 41.9 cubic feet of cargo volume. The tailgate has a mid-position setting that holds 500 lbs, and you get up to 17 available tie-downs, a built-in measuring tool and bed lighting. The StowFlex tailgate and the EZ Lift and Lower tailgate are standard on LT and above, and a 120-volt bed outlet is standard on the Z71 and ZR2.
Maximum payload is 2,046 lbs on a 4WD WT, Custom or LT. The off-road trims carry less: 1,726 lbs for the Trail Boss, 1,733 lbs for the Z71 and 1,445 lbs for the ZR2. The Colorado rides on a 131.4-inch wheelbase and is about 213 inches long, which makes it far easier to park downtown or fit in a garage than a full-size truck.
Off-Road Colorados: Trail Boss, Z71, ZR2 and ZR2 Bison
Trail Boss
The Trail Boss adds a 2-inch factory lift, a wider stance with flares, 32-inch all-terrain tires on 18-inch wheels, an automatic locking rear differential, a two-speed transfer case and hill descent control. It has 9.5 inches of ground clearance and is the value pick for trailheads and forest roads. A Stars and Steel Special Edition package is available in Summit White or Black.
Z71
The Z71 pairs the locking rear differential and two-speed transfer case with more standard comfort: LED lighting, wireless charging, a 120-volt bed outlet and a Jet Black interior with red accents. Underbody cameras and Bose audio are available.
ZR2

The ZR2 is the most capable Colorado: a 3-inch lift, Multimatic DSSV dampers front and rear, driver-selectable locking front and rear differentials, 33-inch mud-terrain tires, full skid plates and rocker protection, underbody cameras and an exclusive Baja drive mode. Ground clearance is 10.7 inches with a 38.3-degree approach angle. The ZR2 Bison package, developed with AEV, adds steel bumpers, boron-steel skid plates, 35-inch mud-terrain tires and 12.2 inches of ground clearance.
Interior, Technology and Safety

Every 2026 Colorado comes with an 11.3-inch touchscreen with Google built-in, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, an 11-inch digital driver display and Wi-Fi hotspot capability. Wireless charging is standard on the Z71 and ZR2, HD Surround Vision is available on LT and above, and the Z71 and ZR2 offer underbody cameras and Bose premium audio.
Safety. Chevy Safety Assist is standard: Automatic Emergency Braking, Front Pedestrian and Bicyclist Braking, Forward Collision Alert, Lane Keep Assist with Lane Departure Warning, a Following Distance Indicator and IntelliBeam auto high beams. Every Colorado also gets Rear Cross Traffic Braking, Rear Park Assist, an HD Rear Vision Camera with Hitch View and Hitch Guidance, and Blind Zone Steering Assist, which works with a trailer on the Trail Boss, Z71 and ZR2.
2026 Colorado Colors
Chevrolet offers eight 2026 Colorado colors. The WT, Custom, LT and Z71 come in Summit White, Black, Sterling Gray Metallic, Sunrise Orange, Snowdrift Metallic and Radiant Red Tintcoat. The Trail Boss and ZR2 come in Summit White, Black, Sterling Gray Metallic, the new White Sands, Reef Blue Metallic and Radiant Red Tintcoat. Snowdrift and Radiant Red cost extra, and Chevrolet notes that Radiant Red has extremely limited availability.
